Hello, I'm Zeynep.
A London-based journalist writing features, interviews and trend pieces across fashion and entertainment.
My path into journalism runs through the business of fashion. For seven years I have run my own consultancy, working with lifestyle brands across partnerships, marketing and sales. I have pitched and won accounts, built brand partnerships from first meeting to signed agreement, and shaped how brands show up in the UK, European and Turkish markets.
That work taught me how brands think, what makes a story land and why the people behind a collection or a campaign are usually the most interesting part of it. It is the lens I bring to my writing.
The journalism
Today I write features, interviews and trend pieces on fashion and entertainment. I have written for the print edition of Vogue Türkiye, interviewed actors for Schön! Magazine, reviewed London Fashion Week shows for Numéro Netherlands and profiled Turkish talent for 5Eleven Magazine.
I am drawn to conversations: sitting down with an actor to talk about the role that changed them, or with a designer about what they are really trying to say. Just as much, I like finding the bigger story in a trend, whether that is the naked dress as an act of defiance or what the return to the office means for how a generation gets dressed.
